More about the Workshop

Breathing space is something our bodies physically require as well as an amazing metaphor for our protected space — to think, feel, breathe, and be — amidst the crowded landscape of stressors we confront daily.

In the workshop, you'll:

  • Visualize your breathing space

  • Make a pocket-size breathing room

  • Use your senses to deeply immerse yourself in your breathing space, relaxing into yourself

  • Explore creative ways to protect your precious mental-emotional real estate

  • Come away with techniques to identify and thwart some of those pesky, stealthy thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which pile on stress and anxiety.

How?

Over the course of the workshop, I will guide you through a progression of easy art-mindfulness mini-projects using these methods to support a creative journey towards breathing room:

  • Doodling

  • Coloring with water

  • Paper arts techniques and

  • Journaling.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • Watercolor pencils

  • Watercolor paper

  • A sponge or a wide-ish paint brush (3/4 in or 1 in brush)

  • Scissors

  • Glue stick or glue

  • Q-tips (a big handful, around 25-30)

  • Paper towels

  • Water and 2 cups

  • Optional: glitter and/or glitter glue
