Circle Your Intentions

I've been revisiting a favorite motif that resonates for me as one chapter closes and another begins (like New Year’s). I love the curvy world of CIRCLES in all their geometry, symbolism, and powerful mojo for we humans.

Circles of Life

I put together the little graphic above as a circle amuse bouche from our natural world. Can you guess what the second one is? What's so great about circles? I hope these excerpts from Reinventing the Wheel by Jessica Helfand can get us rolling.

The Circle

no beginning, no ending

unbiased, solid and unwavering in its geometric simplicity

unity, eternity, infinity

the cosmos

the cycles of the seasons

the orbits of planets around the sun

the full moon

eluding mathematical exactness

[Circles are the] essence of all that is natural, primordial, and inescapably human.

Circles of Creativity

This awesome shape surrounds us and is a part of us. Our attraction to circles is in our DNA.

So much of human creativity and invention revolves around circles! I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't know.

Here's the thing, circles can also help us. (I'll get into the underlying neuroscience another time.)

We can creatively employ the circle's power to

focus our attention

protect and nourish what we’ve put inside the circle

rotate to rev up power and momentum

I can think of no better shape to support our fledgling intentions!

As you take your next life-curve, consider these circlets of wisdom.

Download and use as wallpaper for your phone, laptop or similar.
